Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using askepstein.ai ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Platform.

2. Nature of the Platform

askepstein.ai is a community-driven research tool that provides access to publicly available records related to the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. The Platform includes:

• An AI-powered search assistant that queries public documents
• A community forum for user-generated stories and research
• An interactive "connection board" for visualizing public-record connections
• Collaborative investigation tools

The Platform is not a legal resource, law enforcement tool, or journalistic publication. Nothing on this Platform constitutes legal advice, an accusation of criminal conduct, or a verified statement of fact unless explicitly sourced to an official public record.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

The AI search assistant uses large language models to synthesize information from public documents. AI responses:

• May contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations — always verify against cited sources
• Are not endorsed, reviewed, or verified by the platform operators
• Should not be treated as factual assertions or legal evidence
• May reflect biases present in the underlying training data or source documents

You are solely responsible for verifying any claims made by the AI assistant against original source documents before relying on them.

4. Evidence Media Files

The Platform hosts native-format media files (video, audio) extracted from DOJ evidence Datasets 8 and 10. These files are unmodified recordings from seized electronic devices, served for research, journalistic, and educational purposes. Important disclaimers:

• Media files are unmodified public court records — we do not edit, redact, or add commentary
• Content has not been individually reviewed or verified by the platform operators
• Media may contain sensitive recordings from personal devices including phone calls, voicemails, and video
• The presence of any individual in these files does not imply guilt or criminal conduct
• Files were obtained from community archives of the original DOJ evidence release, not directly from DOJ's curated website

Access to evidence media requires age verification (18+). By accessing media files, you agree to the restrictions in Section 7 (Prohibited Conduct) below.

5. CSAM Zero-Tolerance Policy

This Platform maintains an absolute zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM). If any evidence media file is identified as containing CSAM:

• The file will be immediately removed from public access
• A report will be filed with the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline
• The material will be preserved as required by 18 U.S.C. §2258A
• We will cooperate fully with law enforcement

If you identify potential CSAM in any file on this platform, report it immediately using the "Report Content" button or email abuse@askepstein.ai.

6. User-Generated Content

Users may submit stories, research items, comments, board nodes, and other content ("User Content"). By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:

• You have the right to submit such content
• The content does not violate any applicable law or our Content Policy
• The content does not infringe on any third party's intellectual property or privacy rights
• The content is not defamatory, threatening, harassing, or otherwise harmful

You retain ownership of your User Content but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute it on the Platform. We may remove any content that violates these Terms or our Content Policy at our sole discretion.

User Content represents the views of its authors only, not the views of the Platform operators.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Post defamatory, unsubstantiated allegations against private individuals
• Harass, threaten, or dox any person
• Post content that could endanger ongoing legal proceedings
• Use the Platform to coordinate illegal activity
• Scrape, mirror, or redistribute Platform data without permission
• Circumvent access controls or security measures
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Post spam, malware, or phishing content

Regarding evidence media files, you additionally agree not to:

• Use media files to identify or contact victims depicted in evidence recordings
• Redistribute media with victim-identifying commentary or annotations
• Extract frames, clips, or screenshots to create harassing or exploitative content
• Use media files for any purpose that re-victimizes individuals depicted in the recordings
• Embed or hotlink media files on external websites without authorization

8. Pseudonymous Accounts

Accounts on the Platform are pseudonymous and token-based. You are responsible for safeguarding your access token. We cannot recover lost tokens. While we respect anonymity, we may cooperate with law enforcement requests pursuant to valid legal process.

9. Age Requirements

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account or use the Platform. Access to evidence media files (Section 4) requires a minimum age of 18 years. By using the Platform, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirement.

10. DMCA / Copyright

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content on the Platform infringes your copyright, email us at legal@askepstein.ai with:

• A description of the copyrighted work
• The URL of the infringing content
• Your contact information
• A statement of good faith belief and accuracy under penalty of perjury

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

THE PLATFORM IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE PLATFORM OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM.

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the Platform, including AI-generated responses and user-submitted content.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Platform operators, their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Platform or your violation of these Terms.

13. Right to Dispute

Any individual who believes they are incorrectly represented on this Platform, or that information about them is factually incorrect, may submit a dispute for review.

We commit to reviewing all disputes within the stated timeframes and will respond to the contact information provided in the submission.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of New Zealand.
